THEA Featured In News On Forever Chemicals In Houston Water

A new study finds that Houston’s tap water contains the toxic chemicals known as “forever chemicals” or PFAS. It also finds that many of the contaminants fall outside the proposed federal testing guidelines. The chemicals are used in everything from firefighting foam to the coatings on nonstick frying pans. Unfortunately they can pose a health risk and the toxic chemicals don’t break down.

THEA helped collect data for the study, which was produced by the Natural Resources Defense Council and was peer reviewed.  Here’s the Houston Chronicle’s article about the report.
